Here to talk about what once used to be a Walt Disney World Water Park is River Country which was first opened to guest June 20, 1976 and later closed down on November 1, 2001 and on January 20, 2005 Disney later announced it would be closed for good. Now here is the thing as you all can see from the first two picture it looks like any ordinary water park filled with family and kids enjoying soaking in the sun. But not to get into much details as i don't really want to get into some sort of trouble Disney has left this park abandoned for what to seem like 12 years now since the closing date and the most creepiest part about it is if you venture off to explore the forgotten site the Electricity works and music still play through out the park as if it was just closed for the weekend. Reason for Disney Leaving it to Rust was because Florida Waters now contain Bacteria which can eat up your brain. And Florida had past a Law for pool parks to use their very own clean waters which Disney just decided to close down and later just focused on Blizzard Beach. As you can see River Country didn't use their own sanitized filtered water they actually used what was own as the Bay Lake Waters as a swimming area. If you want more Details you can Research online and find plenty of information also about another well known area called Discovery Island that was also left for good which is located in the 7 seas lagoon between the contemporary and bay lakes but River country was placed right where Fort Wilderness Resort is at.
